Slim begins this episode with a song telling students about feeling good, looking good, being healthier, and enjoying life. Slim joins his friends, Slenda and the All Fit Team, at Slim's Gym, where he explains that there are two kinds of Fitness: Health Related Fitness and Skill Related Fitness. Slim explains that Health Related Fitness is essential for lifetime health, whereas Skill Related Fitness is important, but not absolutely necessary for good health.

 

Slim takes students on a visit to the Body Lab where he shows how Fitness has been important throughout history. Slim names and locates the gluteus maximus muscle as the largest muscle in the body

ALL FIT:   Episode 2 BODY DESIGN

         

Slim explores how the body's skeleton is made up of bones and is powered by the muscles. Together bones and muscles allow the body to move in many ways. Slim defines structure as how the body is put together, functions and how the body works. Slim meets Slenda and the all Fit Team at Slim's Gym.  Slim explains how locomotor movements differ from non-locomotor movements.

 

In the Body Lab Slim shows the structure and design of the skeleton, the location of the joints, and the role of the ligaments and the tendons. Using the examples of bending and straightening the arm at the elbow, Slim names and locates the bleep and tricep muscles.
