Paul Revere

At a 4th of July parade, a young girl meets a talking horse who happens to be the great, great, great, great, great, great grand daughter of Paul Revere's horse. We travel back in time to see Paul's famous ride to worn the patriots. The show features music, maps and dramatic re-creations.

Harriet Tubman

Two children are in a playground where they discover a "magic penny". The character in the coin (Abraham Lincoln) comes alive and talks to the children about life in his time. This leads to a discussion about slavery. The children find out how hard life was for the slaves and how Harriet Tubman helped over 300 escape to freedom on the Underground Railroad. The program features animation, historical photos, pen and ink drawings, maps and dramatic re-creations

Johnny Appleseed

The show opens with Cora, Red and Mac (all animated apples) waiting to hear a story from Granny Smith. When she arrives, they ask to hear the story of their hero - Johnny Appleseed. As the tale unfolds, we learn where and how Johnny traveled and discover some of the reasons apples were so important to settlers. The program features animation, dramatic re-creations, maps, and music

U.S. That's Us! Volume 2 Susan B. Anthony

The program opens in an animated "fantasy world" where only males get to make decisions and women's wishes are ignored. A parallel is drawn to the time in America before women got the vote. We see one of the turning points in the fight for suffrage - when Susan B. Anthony casts a vote and is later arrested. The show features dramatic recreations, music, and maps that show the spread of voting rights across America that lead up to the passage of the 19th amendment.

George Washington Carver

The show opens with a "claymation" jar of peanut butter telling his friend (a jar of jelly) all about his hero - George Washington Carver. We learn that G.W.C. was born a slave, but became one of the most famous scientists in America. We learn of his contributions to the farmers of the south and the host of food products he invented.

Jane Addams

The show opens with a mother boxing up some old clothing to bring to a shelter. Her daughter resists giving anything away because she can't understand whay anyone would need her things. Through an oral history and the use of scrapbook photos, the girl discovers that her great, great grandmother was once in need of help. Further, she learns about the person who helped her - Jane Addams who opened "Hull House", the first settlement house in Chicago. Viewers learn a bit about the hard life of immigrants and how a woman can gather the forces in a community to make a difference.
